21:00 Ned Rothenberg & Samm Bennett Duo USA

Ned Rothenberg has guested here numerous times already in his Double Band and Samm Bennett is also a welcome regular at Porgy (a.o. with Third Persons). Recently, Rothenberg released a much-respected recording called "Powerlines", in which he was featured both as composer and as instrumentalist. Bennett has been busy putting the finishing touches on a solo concept which resulted recently in the CD "History of the Last Five Minutes". Following their joint appearance with Elliott Sharp in the Music Unlimited Festival in Wels, we're sharing the cost of their trip to Vienna (a possible example of cooperation among Austrian production organizers!) and are looking forward to this performance by this unusual duo (not forgetting the memorable solo concert by Rothenberg in which he used circular breathing for the whole first set) which will touch on a diversity of styles, from improvised music to rock & pop. New York Is Now Again!
