Sat. 23.November
21:00 Konrad Schrenk Extravaganza
Konrad Schrenk: guitar,
Werner Feldgrill: bass,
Thomas Lang: drums
Our stupidities constitute our real life; they're the liveliest things we do. They are more deeply meaningful and significant than all of our best thoughts. Therefore we should always make them possible. Yes, there should always be new ones appearing on the horizon. Heimito von Doderer
The extravagances which Konrad Schrenk permits himself to commit, musically and extra-musically, at all times, constitute his real life... and tonight he'll provide the most high-powered sound extravagances that his lively public can afford (ATS 120). He is more strikingly Schrenkish and signi-picanter than that of any of our best mutants could ever be. Therefore it should never be possible for any Schrenk clones to appear on the horizon. Also, it should therefore always remain possible for Konrad Schrenk's extravagances to come fluff up the red velvet phonotechnic jazz stools, without regard for all the freshly upholstered, puristic jazz furnishings.
Extravagance... something that falls out of the usual framework:
The usual framework:
The Merry Widow of a Philharmonic musician,
The Magic Flute of Arnold Schwarzenegger,
The Fledermaus in the Musikverein,
A Land of Smiles after the elections,
The Countess Mariza in Parlament,
A Gypsy Baron as right-wing party leader and
The Carneval of Animals at the Opera Ball.
Welcome!
