...Open fire!... as if he could light a fire with his sax... on the weekend, he exploded again ... with Winckel and
Kellers, constantly spraying oil on the fire (pyromania) ... the catchword "home" or rather "homeland" as a
synonym for contrary associations ... the incredible intensity of echoic phantasy... like a shock wave: the I, the It
and the We (schizophrenia) ... their sound is so incredibly viscous (Mucoviscidose) ... desperation and hope ...
loud and soft, high and low, fast and slow, much and little (manic-depressive condition) ... collective
intoxication (cirrhosis of the liver) ... Drummer Willi Kellers sets the pulse racing (tachycardia) ... Kellers snorts,
puffs and blows, hacks and wheezes (bronchial asthma) ... accents that are forgotten a moment later. a trip into
the Black Forest (senile dementia) ... Kellers suffers from occupational tenosynovitis ... Christoph Winckel
wields the most insistent bass in all of Free Jazz ... a half-dog can't pee (cystitis) ... the beat comes out from his
fly (Priapism)... high emotional tension (hypertonia) ... agony and ecstasy in the creative moment ... self-
destructive power (masochism) ... music producing hot breath that burns the skin (coprophagy) ... right up close
to the Nirvana of absolute chaos ... giving the impression they're attending the reading of a mass ... engaging in a
diabolical dialogue (religious delirium) ... stimulating powerplay... two hours full of sexual energy... libidinous
madmen ... on four levels but also humane on one level (erotomania) ... forcing Free Jazz kids to run for cover?
(sadism) ...Brötzmann, giving dark looks as if he just received his income tax statement... as unpredictable as life
itself, not really finding a niche within the traditionally-assigned roles (sociopathy) ... thinking at any minute they
might fall down (epilepsy), ... if the collective process suddenly collapses, the machine's kaputt (coronary
sclerosis) ... if I don't play for a while, I go crazy! (Morbus Brötzmann). KP
