21:00 1st set Bob Mover Trio USA/A

Mover is an interesting, awkward player whose improvisations take an unpredictable route without moving too far from bebop grammar. His very hard, astringent tones make him sound more plangent than he often is, and on ballads he's a romantic in a hard shell. (The Penguin Guide to Jazz)

Larry Lofquist, an American Alone in Vienna, brought Bob Mover to this city to participate in a recording, and we're seizing the chance to invite Mingus's former alto player to head this American-Brazilian-Austrian ensemble in a 2-set performance. "Every time I play, it's an adventure", Mover said. "Especially when I play with someone who's good: Every individual has his own Odyssey and suddenly you're making jazz with two, three or more different Odysseys. Out of this comes a great adventure." (Bob Mover).

The musicians he'll be playing with here are so good that nothing should stand in the way of their having a Great Adventure.
