21:00 Toninho Porto Solo Bra

Toninho Porto: bass, guitar, percussion, vocals
An evening in keeping with this thrumping, throbbing, pounding and imminently untransportable masterful monstrosity. In Part I, the Brasilian musician Toninho Porto will stage a debut of his own solo project. E-Bass, guitar, diverse percussion instruments, voice and a sax wielded by Gerald Preinfalk give Porto the necessary support for the translation of his most intimate (musical) imaginings. The Mark's Brothers, alias Dresser & Helias, are two American owners of the Porgy-Membercard who are happily heard here, as well as seen. Tonight, they will both schlepp their string basses into the premises and coax wonderous results out of this partnership and harmony. The two are actualizing this unusual project after a string of widely-differing projects conducted under their own names (Dresser, who has concentrated on music from such films as "The Cabinet of Dr Caligari", "Le Chien Andalou" and "A Propos De Nice", and Helias, who just formed an excellent quintet with Regina Carter and Ellery Eskelin). Something for listeners with an ear for individualistic soundscapes. CH
