21:00 Doug Hammond Trio USA

Hammond, a committed music educator, has been teaching in Linz for some time already. As an independent-minded drummer, he has worked with Rollins, Mingus, Donald Byrd, Chet Baker and Wolfgang Dauner. As band leader, he formed ensembles in the early 80s with Steve Coleman and Kirk Lightsey (Perspicuity, Spaces), participated in Peter Giger's Family of Percussion and cut a solo recording. During this one-month school holiday, we'll have the chance to enjoy several teachers in the role of performing musician again, including Mr.Hammond who's appearing here in his newly-formed trio, made all the more special by the presence of the exceptionally talented trumpeter, Dwight Adams.
