21:00 Session by Heinrich von Kalnein The Liebman/Beirach Songbook

"The worst holdover we might have from our childhoods is the notion of the seriousness of life. Schools are responsible for this. Children actually start out with the right instinct: They know that life is not at all serious and treat it like a game or fun pasttime. But everything that is really important has developed out of such playing. (I also think we find women so attractive because they're not at all serious.)" (Egon Fridell)

Who's afraid of the Liebman/Beirach Songbook? No one. Because everything that is of real value - and these songs count among these - has developed out of some type of playing. Blue blood musician Heinrich von K. - who is both a teacher from Graz and Badvöslau saxophonist - will see to it that today's playing retains a sessional nature and that it avoids dwelling on the seriousness of life. Because of, or in spite of, an ambitious Songbook. One thing should be kept in mind: The precious charts are available at the Club 10 days in advance.

And another thing to be kept in mind: H.v.K. is a charming host, an honorable saxophonist and spirited entertainer. (I also think this accounts for the great attraction women feel for H.v.K. ...) And yet another thing to be kept in mind: No school in the world can be held responsible for tonight's performance. RD
