21:00 Trixner/Sokal/Sieverts/Salfellner A/D

"From the moment something begins to change into a career - thereby ceasing to be universally human - it also loses, to a large degree, most of its power and mysterious appeal. In other words, human activities only really have vitality as long as they're performed by dilettantes." (Egon Fridell)

Is it possible that Egon is completely mistaken in the above quote? Harry S. is certainly no dilettante. Nevertheless, as a person, he radiates an incredible and mysterious aura and his tenor playing possesses a powerful driving force, with a special joyful quality.

Christian S. is certainly also not a dilettante yet his pounding drums send out a remarkably human message; you can certainly classify his percussive attacks as a calling, a truly human activity. Trixner and Sieverts are also serious career musicians who have always given a human touch to their work. So what did Egon mean by the above, anyway?

"Good music starts only where man stops taking life and himself seriously." (Egon)
