21:00 Fun Time Part 3 Fritz Pauer Quintet
Admission: ATS 150.-
24:00 PianoNightLine Oliver Kent Trio
When Oliver Kent - a talented pianist who has been criminally under-acknowledged by critics and his public - follows into P&B so closely on the heels of Fritz Pauer, excitement mounts for any jazz enthusiasts who enjoy making comparisons. In any case, New York's Lincoln Center doesn't have to worry about continuation of the Tradition. Here in Europe, authentic jazz is also being passed on i.e. by Fritz Pauer to Oliver Kent, who has internalized the music of Wynton Kelly, Tommy Flanagan and the early McCoy Tyner in such a dreamlike state and to such a degree that copy and original have become nearly identical. Does this mean, according to Koglmannsher's definition, that Oliver is therefore only a fine artisan or is he actually a great musician who in his early years is simply financing his efforts by producing ingenious replicas?
