21:00 Special Reserve Aydin Esen Chamber Music Project

"We come into the world today with brains which have been pre-compartmentalized, so to speak. We are not able to imagine that a person can do more than one thing. We hang a certain label on others and are astounded, distrustful, insulted when they don't conform with the labels we've given them. Notwithstanding, in truly cultivated times, we note that all gifted people are hugely versatile." (Egon Fridell)

If Egon weren't, for some time already, active as a cabaret host in distant Hades, he'd probably be spending the evening here with us tonight. The program is loaded with creative sound diversity. Each of the illustrious chamber musicians of this sumptuous Esen event has a wide palette of creative strengths to offer. Added to this, is Maestro Esen's stylistically varied music. Now the only danger is that by virtue of this enormous diversity, once we have survived the first set, our brains will have begun to fold, unfold and refold, building countless new compartments and forcing us to realize: A person must know how to do more than one thing. Which doesn't mean that we can't or shouldn't gaily continue to hang labels on people. And if you ask me, whoever claims that we are living in truly cultivated times is spreading a terrifying rumor. All gifted people always feel insulted, are seldom surprised and constantly distrustful, and this is what accounts for their versatility. A good option: Escape into Esen's chamber! RD
