Praskin, Allan (as) 1948, Los Angeles: Already in his youth, played with the whole line-up of West Coast notables (George Morrow, J.R. Monterose, Ray Draper, Frank Butler, Benny Harris, Bobby Hutcherson, Harold Land et.al.); in 1967, moved on to New York, where he delved into Free Jazz and experimentations with Sunny Murray, Beaver Harris, Sam Rivers and James Zitro, among others; from 1972 to 1975, played with the Gunter Hampel Galaxie Dream Band and since that time has lived in Europe, where he has worked with Fritz Pauer, Hans Koller, Wolfgang Lauer and Warne Marsh. On 4.2.96, this highly individualistic and experienced musician will be playing with his trio in Porgy & Bess.
