Blast is coming to us from the Netherlands, one European country which has always been a source of musical surprises. Take for example the improvisational musicians who clustered around Han Bennink in the '60s to form the Instant Composers Pool, a musicians' collective whose search for validation eventually resulted in the creation of the Bimhuis.
In recent times, bands working in the cross-over field have increasingly been seeking invitations to perform at various other jazz clubs. Blast, an Avant-Rock-Band -- follows in the tradition of Soft Maschine, King Crimson and Zappa, and we're happy to honor their request and invite them in! CH
