Pianist Claus Raible, who is paying us a repeat visit from NY City, proved already in his solo concert in the Stadtinitiative last spring that he has Bud Powell's music in his soul. His second greatest love is the music of Tadd Dameron, the largely-forgotten pioneer who knew how to parcel out exact measures of Be Bop und West-Coast Jazz and whose works influenced the likes of Charlie Parker and Gil Evans.
