Within the scope of VS4, Christian Havel and Joschi Weinrich have set out to explore the path laid by one of the few European musicians to have left lasting stylistic marks on jazz. Django Reinhardt, whose music created an international furor in the 30s and 40s, provides the spiritual patronage for this group, which is further characterized by a pronounced sense of timing, rhythm and musical humor.
