(The Wire) Originally created as a satellite group of Edvard Vesala's Sound & Fury, Krakatau has since developed into an independent body, which does not fit into the usual Scandinavian musical picture. Avoiding hymn-like elegies and endless esoteric slurs, Krakatau thrashes out energetic music in the spirit of Hendrix, Zappa, Dolphy and Coltrane; music more reminiscent of the New York metropole than of the endless stretches of Nordic fiord.
