Nouvelle Cuisine's revolt against constraints on art has shaken the
notion that no artistic productions can flourish in a power-based
society without drawing attention to their own inherent power, yet
without actually toppling the primacy of this notion, since as artists
they in fact remain subject to the very real forces which lay behind
it. Within this dichotomy, the opposition of production forces to
production conditions becomes flagrant: negative arthematics, combined
with the positive desiderata of what in this context can be termed
their primal melismatic groove, form a theoretical configuration - a
stringent glimpse into the technological grounds behind the attendant
lucid retrogression. We should not lose sight of this Cuisine, in order
to better handle the emancipation of dissonance (and the elicited
reactions), as an element in the process leading from authority to
freedom. Come together! RD
