During the festival Alone in Europe (September 94), Uli Scherer had a chance to display his understanding of Monk by playing an entire set -unrehearsed - in duo with Steve Lacy. Monk counts not only among the most original jazz composers but also among the most played. And with reason. Just think of a few of these titles... Round Midnight, Well you needn`t, Blue Monk, Straight no chaser ... The charts will be available two weeks in advance. MR
