21:00 Elliott Sharp Carbon

This New York guitarist is always associated with the "Noise Scene," which doesn't make him terribly happy. Elliott Sharp should not be viewed primarily as a musician "who makes noise", especially when you consider the dictionary (Am.Heritage) definition of noise as "a sound of any kind, especially when loud, confused, indistinct or disagreeable".

Elliott Sharp may disturb the peace of anyone who is suspect of unconventional approaches which transgress formal musical structures. You can't listen to Sharp's music without forming an opinion of it. Either you like his complex compositions, with their frequent layering of lines, or you decide to leave his music alone. Elliott Sharp was and remains one of the disturbing innovative forces in this scene where inspiration has always been soughtrather more in the turbulence along the outer reaches than in the stagnant mainstream! Times Square

This evening
Fall
En empty place
Someone from the left
Two converse
Strangers
April and
Sunrise

In the middle,
There's movement
to be heard
To exchange news
To speak without qualms
Sometimes all come
Together
Here

Soon
We should feel
The moon

Midnight
Fall
All places full
None of us speaking
Strange sounds
October and
Wine to come

In the middle,
Breathes music.
To listen
To exchange lives
And keep knowingly still
Many worlds come
together
here

Soon only
the fog
will warm us
