Following his trio performance with Dieter Ilg and Jeff Hirshfield, Copeland is again honoring us with his presence, this time with an All Star Quartet. Randy Brecker -- who, as one of the Brecker Bros., attained commercial success together with his brother Michael -- played trumpet already for Art Blakey and Horace Silver and was one of the founding members of the legendary Blood Sweat & Tears. Even if we have decided to go easy on superlatives, they have to be pulled out again in the case of Gary Peacock. He is one of the most exceptional bassists there ever was, as stated by his colleague Dave Holland. Equal praise has been heaped on him by Albert Ayler, Miles Davis, Ornette Coleman, Gil & Bill Evans, Don Ellis, Paul Bley, Jimmy Giuffre, Keith Jarrett, Hans Koller... the list goes on and on. Billy Hart -- who has played not only with such style-forging musicians as Wes Montgomery and Miles Davis, but who was also the long-term partner of David Liebman in Quest -- is rounding out this distinguished foursome.
