Steve Bates Solo (CAN) / Margareth Kammerer Solo (D)

Steve Bates: electronics, guitar
Margareth Kammerer: vocals, guitar

Steve Bates is an artist and musician currently living on Treaty 6 / Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, so-called Canada. His work has been exhibited, performed, and transmitted in North America/Turtle Island, Europe, Chile and Senegal. While his most recent solo recording, All The Things That Happen, has been released by Montréal’s Constellation Records, he also releases music both solo and collaboratively through his own small scale publishing and curatorial project, The Dim Coast. He works in the field, on the air, in museological/gallery and performance contexts. These shifting territories reflect the content of his practice.

Margareth Kammerer is a singer, musician and composer working solo and in various ensembles and projects.
Her work includes music for theater, film and radio drama. She regularly collaborates with musicians of the real-time music scene in Berlin, explores extended forms of song and enjoys interpreting works by other composers. In her solo works, she draws inspiration from texts of modern and contemporary literature and uses them in her songs. She is currently working with texts by Virginia Woolf and with poems by Berlin-based Sicilian poet Clio Nicastro, and is collaborating musically with Rebecca Lane on this project.
