Dave Lofts
Even when he covers songs, he moves the audience to tears. His EP *Live At Phil Grimes*, which he recorded in a pub, immediately reached No. 1 on the Irish Independent Charts. Here, he skillfully brings the Irish song tradition he loves into the present.
Sondre Lerche
Sondre Lerche wrote his first songs at age 13. He was allowed to perform them at the club where his sister worked. At age 20, Lerche received the Spellemannprisen, the most prestigious music award in his native Norway. The musician from Bergen has since recorded 15 albums, including the soundtrack for “Dan in Real Life.” Her latest work, “Acrobats,” is being released just in time for Blue Bird.
Elin Hall
In her native Iceland, 27-year-old Elín Sif Halldórsdóttir is considered one of the greatest talents—both as an actress and as a singer-songwriter. Awards, chart successes, and acclaimed shows prove it. Her first songs were still in Icelandic. Now she’s on her way to conquering the world.
Flora Hibberd
Born in London, Flora Hibberd has considered herself French since she was a teenager. Ahead of Blue Bird, her second album “Mammoth” is now being released. At times she moves between guitar- and synth-driven pop, at others she draws on traditional songs from the 17th century. The often complex lyrics are full of allusions. For fans of Aldous Harding.
Eli
A deeply emotional and honest coming-of-age indie pop album in which the Australian artist reflects on his difficult childhood as a queer person. Emotional and rebellious lyrics are delivered by a powerful yet tender voice that rises above a massive wall of pop production. He plans to perform a lot of the material on piano during his live shows.
This Is The Kit
Why dwell on the past when you could simply live in the present? The future is left to the post-apocalypse anyway. With that in mind, This Is The Kit takes the time to shed light on these connections. This Is The Kit is the stage name of Kate Staples, a British artist living in Paris. For years, she has been releasing albums of jarring honesty and inviting sonic warmth; she is also constantly evolving—which is probably the only wise way to navigate through time. The music of “This Is The Kit” places a high value on togetherness; that’s why it feels like a special privilege to be invited into this musical cosmos—whether on record or in a concert hall.
Tara Nome Doyle
Irish-Norwegian artist Tara Nome Doyle has released a masterpiece in the chamber rock genre with her third album, *Ekko*. In one of the songs, she reinterprets the story of Adam and Eve. In addition, she won the award for best soundtrack at this year’s Diagonale for the film *Rose* (directed by Markus Schleinzer, starring Sandra Hüller). The multi-instrumentalist will perform as a duo at the Blue Bird.
