Internationally acclaimed guitar virtuoso Greg Howe returns to Europe with an exceptional lineup featuring legendary drummer Dennis Chambers, bassist Jon Reshard, and keyboardist Marco Corcione—bringing Howe's music to the stage in a powerful new live configuration.
This tour marks the first time in many years that Greg Howe will tour and perform with a keyboardist, adding an important new dimension to his live sound and opening the door to greater harmonic depth, interaction, and improvisational possibilities throughout the performances.
The tour also reunites Howe with bassist Jon Reshard, whose connection to Howe's music runs much deeper than simply taking over the bass chair. Reshard has a longstanding musical relationship with Howe and was the bassist featured on Howe's acclaimed 2008 album Sound Proof. His familiarity with Howe's musical language, combined with his own distinctive approach to the instrument, makes him a particularly meaningful addition to this lineup.
At the center of the tour is Extraction, Greg Howe's landmark collaboration with Dennis Chambers and Victor Wooten. Originally released in 2003 through Tone Center/Shrapnel Records, the album brought together three extraordinary musicians for a powerhouse instrumental fusion recording that has remained a landmark of the genre.
Despite its enduring reputation and influence, Extraction was never toured, making the Greg Howe Extraction European Tour 2027 featuring Dennis Chambers the first opportunity for audiences to experience much of this celebrated music performed live.
A Special Message from Victor Wooten
Victor Wooten, whose bass playing was an integral part of the original Extraction recording, is unable to participate in the tour due to previous commitments. He offered the following message:
“Extraction is one of the recordings I’m most proud to be a part of. The music is well-written, clever, difficult to play, and easy to listen to. I still hear from people all around the world who love this amazing album.
“I’m really excited that Greg and Dennis will be taking this music on tour to perform it live for the first time, but I’m disappointed that my previous commitments will not allow me to be a part of it. I’ll be busy touring with my brothers at the same time.
“I’m excited that my longtime friend, Jon Reshard, will be filling the bass chair. I’ve known him since he was a young kid and am happy and amazed by his musical ability. I’m excited to hear how he takes my parts and makes them his own. It’s going to be incredible!
“I know that Greg, Dennis, and Jon will have a fantastic and fulfilling adventure. My message to you is, ‘Don’t miss it!’”
Fans can expect the tour to draw from the rich musical territory of Extraction, revisiting favorites such as “Lucky Seven,” “Bird's Eye View,” and “Proto Cosmos.” The set will also feature the album's title track, “Extraction,” alongside other Extraction compositions that have never before been performed live. These will be complemented by signature Greg Howe compositions including “Jump Start” and “Kick It All Over.” With the addition of keyboardist Marco Corcione and the distinctive musical voices of Dennis Chambers and Jon Reshard, familiar material will take on new possibilities, allowing these compositions to be explored within a broader harmonic and improvisational setting.
