Wenn man der originellen Instrumental-Funk- und Soul-Band True Loves aus Seattle zuhört, fühlt man sich wie bei einem Spaziergang durch die Lieblingsstraße seines Viertels, wo man seinen Freunden die Hand gibt, sich mit den Ladenbesitzern unterhält und sein Spiegelbild in ihren Schaufenstern bewundert. Die Band ist wie eine Blockparty. Was 2014 als Jam-Session zwischen dem Schlagzeuger David McGraw, dem Bassisten Bryant Moore und dem Gitarristen Jimmy James begann, hat sich seitdem zu einer globalen Kraft entwickelt, zu der auch der Percussionist Iván Galvez, der Posaunist Greg Kramer und die Saxophonisten Gordon Brown und Skerik gehören. Zusammen haben die Live-Auftritte der Gruppe ihnen viel Beifall und Millionen von Streams auf YouTube eingebracht.

2017 nahmen The True Loves ihr Debütalbum „Famous Last Words“ auf, das weltweit Beifall fand und ihnen Auftritte bei begehrten Musikfestivals einbrachte. 2021 veröffentlichte die Band ihr zweites Album „Sunday Afternoon“. 2024 folgte die Veröffentlichung der Single „Good Weed and Red Wine“ und ihre zweite Europatournee. Eine zweite Single, „Dopus no. 1“, wurde im Januar 2025 veröffentlicht, wobei beide Songs am Valentinstag als 7"-Vinyl-Single erschienen.
