The first time I met Ed was in Cafe Westend, near Westbahnhof before a trip to Germany. I always wanted to have my tunes arranged by a big band arranger and interpreted by a bigger formation!
The main question to me is and over the time always was „what’s new in music?“ My goal is to invent music itself new for every single day! This project needed a modern sound which I wanted to realize without electronics, DJ’s or computers! How could I depart from nowadays thinking and western music convention without that? I try not to conform to vogues or trends. Our consumers have to get the feeling that what we play is desirable for everybody but not attainable! We hate mob reaction and automatic applause! But if we can’t communicate with our listeners it’s not worth producing new ideas! This project is just the musical thinking and expression of two human beings! Our musical dedication is a dedication to truth and there is just one! Let’s start a church! (Flip Philipp)
