Music For Three Elements
Music for three elements is the name that I\\\'m giving this piece. I first considered „Music for kittens and puppies\\\", but was afraid that it might not fit: at the writing of this text the character of the piece is as yet not completely defined. What I can say is that marimba, cello and trombone represent the three basic methods of acquiring sound from a physical body: striking, plucking (and bowing) and the movement of air – thus three elements. Beyond this, I find the three instruments have a certain affinity in sound and offer a great many possible aural combinations, which will be explored in the course of this piece. However: it\\\'s no „sound experiment\\\". I don\\\'t need a melody that you leave the concert humming, but I do need something like a melody, something that I can directly perceive as beautiful. Hmmm . . . perhaps it will appeal to the kittens and puppies after all. (Phil Yaeger)

Waldner/Wenger/Salesny „computer works“
(Clemens Wenger)
