"DeJohnette is setting himself ever more fascinating rhythmic puzzles without compromising his awesome powers to push and swing." (The Guardian)
One of the finest jazz drummers of all time, Jack DeJohnette a living jazz icon returns for fall performances in Europe in style with a terrific quartet that includes brilliant reedsman Don Byron. In a career spanning over half a century, DeJohnette has been the drummer of choice for a who’s who of jazz giants - Miles Davis, Keith Jarrett, Chick Corea, Pat Metheny and Herbie Hancock - and sits firmly alongside them, having won a coveted National Endowment For The Arts Jazz Masters Award. As a composer and band leader he is hugely respected, creating acoustic and electric musical languages that always sound as fresh as tomorrow. Joined by longtime keyboardist and recording artist George Colligan and bassist Jerome Harris, rounding out the quartet is Don Byron the recipient of the first Doris Duke Performing Artist Award who has been a singular voice in an astounding range of contexts, exploring widely divergent traditions while continually striving for what he calls “a sound above genre.”
