Omar Sosa has a taste for diversity – diversity in his inspirations, diversity in his creations. Due to be released in March 2002, his new album „Sentir” offers an intimate acoustic experience, featuring Gustavo Ovallès (Venezuela) on percussion, Geoff Brennan (USA) on double bass, and Martha Galarraga (Cuba) with Yoruba chants. A new element, the gnawa musician Yassir Chadli (Morroco/USA) brings a strong and unmistakable sound, combining oud, oriental percussion and chants. For the new season the Cuban pianist will be appearing in a series of concerts, transporting his audiences into all sorts of different universes: in the first half the audience will discover the acoustic ballades and the irresistible atmosphere of „Sentir”, while the second half will sizzle with the fire of the Bembon and Prietos albums in the company of his usual septet (Eliott Kavee on drums, Sheldon Brown on the sax and SubZ, an old mate of Steve Coleman’s Metrics, providing the rap). From introspection to explosion let Omar Sosa’s orishas take you away. (3D Family)
