The music made by DIATONISCHE EXPEDITIONEN, is unusual in every sense: in the combination of instruments and the timbres they are made to produce, but especially in terms of the ensemble’s musical direction. The focal point of the trio is the Styrian accordion, a traditional folk instrument from southern Austria. Together, the three musicians strip away the instrument’s familiar, folksy mantle, imaginatively reshaping it to fit a broad selection of musical influences, ranging from Astor Piazzolla and George Gershwin to Elvis Presley and Nina Simone. An adventurous, multifaceted, engaging expedition through the musical cosmos.

Jazz pianist and composer, Martin Listabarth, dives deep into the topic of personal inspirations, resulting in a music that combines tonal elegance and musical ingenuity with playfulness, wit and a heavy dose of storytelling.
Musically, it’s a treasure trove of solo piano technique, running the full spectrum from soft and melancholic to dramatic and bold. Shimmering, classical-inspired ballads give way to blues-infused vamps and high-octane swing. The resulting collection of music is both playful and challenging, accessible yet complex – something heightened by the narrative that inspires each song.

OSKA is currently charming audiences across Europe. She made her Great Escape debut in May 2022 and joined label-mate Stu Larsen on a handful of dates before linking up with Tom Odell as support act for his European Tour. She played the Eurosonic Noorderslaag (ESNS) showcase festival in Winter 2023, where she won the coveted Music Moves Europe Award, presented by ESNS and Reeperbahn Festival.
It’s no wonder – the overlap of their indie-folk, emotionally-charged approach to music, made them a natural pair. The more people that discover this rising star, the more likely we will be hearing OSKA’s voice and music pop up all over the world.

ALEX KRANABETTER goes beyond the boundaries of conventional trumpet playing and creates music existing somewhere between free improvization and electroacoustic sound art. What starts off as a tiny fragment, quickly develops its own organic dynamics, and brings about a hypnotic pull. Fleeting melodies, gloomy loops, drones and bumpy beats, which move through empty reverberation spaces, outline the sound architecture. Out of this, emerge multi-layered, introspective pieces beyond any formal restrictions.

DIVES was formed in February of 2016 after Dora de Goederen, Tamara Leichtfried and Viktoria Kirner met at the Austrian Pink Noise Camp. The Viennese underground scene was immediately taken by their surf-ish sound. German Spex Magazin sees the band in line with “indie heroes such as the Shop Assistants, Feelies […] with influences of bands such as La Sera or Waxahatchee”. DIVES are contemporary and yet there’s an 80s vibe to be traced.
