Valentin Duit Solo
The young drummer and composer Valentin Duit, who is well established on the local jazz scene, gives an insight into his latest drum solo pieces.
Valentin Duit, born in 1992, studied in Lucerne and his home city of Vienna, where he made a name for himself in various young bands in the field of jazz and improvised music - and beyond: for example in the Trio Dsilton, in the Christopher Pawluk Quartet, in the formations of saxophonist Robert Unterköfler and many more.
Duit has performed as a bandleader with his quartet and the quintet Trabanten. However, his very successful percussion solo EP "Mashevene" (2018) attracted particular attention, in which Duit develops clearly arranged, economical sound structures and allows an astonishing variety of colors and nuances to be heard, especially in the reduction.
