5 X 5 sounds in a colorful palette in the shades of an orchestra. Following a vibrant flow in new directions, 5 X 5 dives deep into a sonic microcosm in which differences combine in their diversity to create something new. With their debut album "Extrahügel", 5 X 5 combine their jazz roots with innovative sounds. With this energetic record, they make a strong musical statement that points in new directions. Violin with simultaneous or polyphonic vocals, live electronics, saxophone, flute, clarinet and a strong rhythm section of bass, keys and drums create pulsating soundscapes that captivate the audience. Winner of the first prize in the German Women in Jazz Competition 2023, the band has already enjoyed five successful concert tours through Austria and Germany since its foundation in 2021. They have performed at renowned festivals such as the "47th Jazztage Ilmenau", the "Jazzwerkstatt Graz", "Musikwerkstatt Wels", the "Bayerisches Jazzweekend" and twice at the "Focus Female Festival" at the Blue Note Dresden.
