Anna Anderluh has long been a well-known name in the local music scene – and beyond – yet she remains an absolute hidden gem. Her voice holds something mysterious, something intangible that touches the soul in an indescribable way and goes straight to the heart.
She possesses the rare ability to effortlessly navigate between two extremes: at times, she rises powerfully above the ensemble, while at others, she seamlessly blends into the sound, becoming an integral part of the whole. This skill requires not only exceptional musicality but also an extraordinary sensitivity and a keen sense for nuance in the microscopic realm of music.
It is a great honor for me that we will have Anna Anderluh as our fifth band member on this special evening – or rather, that we will have the privilege of being accompanied by her. The program will be an exciting mix of old, sentimental melodies and fresh, relevant compositions. And last but not least, the audience can look forward to a very special surprise – so it’s well worth staying until the very end. (Simon Raab)

Jazz music of a tremendously elegant quality, the kind that does not linger in the classical realm, but rather unfolds many interesting interconnections to other styles. PURPLE IS THE COLOR sets sail to special musical shores, to shores on which the dignified sound of jazz can develop its full radiance free of conventional constraints. The aim of Simon Raab (piano), Stepán Flagar (saxophone), Martin Kocián (bass) and Michal Wierzgon (drums) is to touch the audience with their music, release deep-rooted feelings and trigger emotions. Purple is the Color have been selected as NASOM “New Austrian Sound of Music” act 2020-21. (Michael Ternai, Mica Austria 2019)
