Trio Falb / Holub / Satzinger
The trio Falb / Holub / Satzinger was founded in 2017 for a concert at the "JazzWerkstatt Wien Festival". Bernd Satzinger (double bass) and Mark Holub (drums) met when Holub arrived in Vienna in 2012 and had the plan to create something musical together right from the start. Satzinger suggested Viola Falb (saxophone), with whom he has worked together for many years (e.g. FS:eins). The studio concert was followed by several more concerts in Austria. When Falb brought up the possibility of recording at the "Hotel Pupik" in Schrattenberg, the decision was made to produce the album "A Room For You".
The recordings took place in a beautiful old farmhouse in Styria, where the trio and their sound engineer retreated for three days to record many hours of music. In their luggage were composition sketches, concepts and a strong desire for improvisational expression. The recordings were followed by a lengthy, very precise selection process until finally the 15 tracks that made it onto the album were left.
