There's not much more to say about Karl Ratzer - the Viennese guitarist has been one of the absolute world leaders for decades, as has composer and double bassist Peter Herbert, who is one of the most sought-after and competent musicians in Austria. Together with Margarethe Herbert's eXtracello, the "most extravagant outsiders in string quartet playing" - an extraordinary formation is on stage.

In this program, baroque classical music meets funk, standards and, above all, compositions by Ratzer, who reflects the great themes of life in his inimitable musical language, moving between heaven and earth with somnambulistic certainty.

It is highly uplifting to be able to experience such serene veterans as Karl Ratzer and Peter Herbert in soulful, almost youthful interaction between man and woman, E and U, popular music and modern classical music. (Press release)

And anyone who has heard Karl Ratzer sing ballads understands what intuitive knowledge of the right tone of voice can be in jazz. (Ljubisa Tosic, Der Standard)
