Chris Eckman
Chris Eckman has already made music history with his band The Walkabouts. His songs have been covered by Townes Van Zandt, Steve Wynn and the Willard Grant Conspiracy, and his last album ‘Where the Spirit Rests’ won the 2021 German Record Critics' Award. Eckman has already been a guest at the Blue Bird Festival twice with various projects. Now the folk-rock legend is back with his new album ‘The Land We Knew the Best’. The sound is fuller, warmer and more structured, which gives the songs a completely different framework.
Emily Barker
The British press has described the compositions of Australian Emily Barker as “elegant, stylish and adventurous”. She made a name for herself back in 2008 with the soundtrack to the BBC series "Wallander". She is finally coming to Vienna with her sixth solo album "Fragile as Humans".
Alicia Edelweiss
The voice is Alicia Edelweiss' most important instrument. This voice sings, narrates, laments, sighs and laughs. Alicia Edelweiss can sing a pop song in a relaxed manner, as if nothing about it were the slightest effort, and then immediately transform her own voice in a Catholic choral work into something spherical and enraptured, not-from-this-world. Her latest album "Furie" is wilder and more complex than her debut album and tackles female anger, taboos and patriarchal sexism.
