That's just one of many opinions. Because generally speaking, Spitting Ibex are considered one of the best live bands in the country. And so it was clear what had to happen at some point—a live album that finally brings the raw energy of this band into your home.
In recent years, the band has played across the country—from the venerable walls of Radio Kulturhaus to the pulsating Porgy & Bess to the untamed energy of the Arena Wien. In recent years, the band has played across the country – from the venerable walls of Radio Kulturhaus to the pulsating Porgy & Bess to the untamed energy of the Arena Wien. And every time, there was this tension in the air, as if something bigger was about to happen. "A furious band in top form, a roaring audience. It was like watching a blockbuster movie," wrote the Kulturverein 361° cultural association after the concert in Aschbach-Markt (November 8, 2024).

It is precisely these moments that now come together – like a road trip through Austria's concert landscape, from venue to venue, carried by the immediate magic of the moment. And yet there is an audible common thread: the dramaturgy of a single, never-ending concert. Because “Spitting Ibex Live” was never ‘just’ music – it is a collective state of emergency. “From the first note, from the front woman's first move, the entire audience was completely blown away,” wrote the NÖN about the same evening in Aschbach.

At the center of every show is Tanja “Aunty” Peinsipp—a whirlwind of voice, movement, and presence. “An exceptional bundle of energy,” is how Hannes Schweiger described her after her performance at Porgy & Bess (February 6, 2022). “She belts out rhythmic blocks of text, leads the band on a steamy course, accompanied by a likeable rebelliousness.” And FM4's Lisa Schneider summed it up succinctly after the “Love Hate Fear Fate” album release show at Porgy & Bess (February 27, 2020): “Spitting Ibex tore the Vienna jazz club apart!”

This live album shows Spitting Ibex as they really are: untamed, raw, uncompromising, and stubbornly beautiful. Sometimes with background vocals, percussion, and a full horn section, then reduced again to the five-piece core lineup. Every nuance, every bead of sweat, every breath is palpable. “Their live show is reminiscent of the boisterous rock bands of our youth – and frontwoman Tanja generates more energy in one evening than the Murkraftwerk power plant in Graz does in a whole year,” wrote Der Haubentaucher (Dom im Berg, 12.2022).

Joe Traxler
'On A Trip To The Ether' by Berlin-based producer, singer/songwriter and multi instrumentalist Joe Traxler marks a new turn through space and time in his artistic passage. Born out of a collaborative process with the new European musical collective ‘In Delirium’, the 11 tracks warp genre, dissonance and harmony through an amalgamation of trip hop and neo psych, dub and organic techno, inviting the listeners through a journey of mutual destruction and rebirth. The concept album builds a bridge between audio and visual art as it was released as a film in which Joe performs the full set live-looping several instruments accompanied by interactive psychedelic visuals. It's a follow up to the critically acclaimed debut LP ‘Lifelines’ released in 2022 (nominated for an Amadeus Music Award) and the self-produced HIGH SUGAR CONTENT EP (2023) that has further cemented Joe as an independent artist into both the Austrian and International Music scene and landed him several high portfolio
support shows (Jade Bird, James Gillespie & Oscar Jerome,..), 4 million streams on Spotify and world radio and charts placements (Radio 1, Amazing Radio UK, Fm4,..).
A collab EP with Australian soul/rap artist Harry Dean Lewis as well as another solo EP are scheduled to be released in 2025
