In his “Solo” program, Christian Bakanic presents his favorite pieces and original compositions from recent years. Jazz standards such as “Caravan” and “Armando's Rumba,” modern tangos by Astor Piazzolla such as ‘Libertango’ and “Vuelvo al Sur” will be featured, as well as pieces penned by Bakanic himself. His compositions subtly blend the complex spontaneity of jazz, the spirited passion of tango nuevo, and the disciplined moment of classical music with the multi-layered traditions of European folk music and new folk music from Austria.

Air Rapide is a duo consisting of Mario Pall on didgeridoo and Philipp Pluhar on drums. The band plays a powerful and danceable show without any electronic aids, similar to a DJ set—the transitions between songs are fluid, and sooner or later, a constant beat gets everyone in the audience dancing. The band describes their genre as “organic techno,” although it is difficult to classify them clearly—Air Rapide feels equally at home in clubs, on large festival stages, and in street music situations—the high degree of improvisation allows the band to constantly adapt to their changing audience. Previous concerts have taken Air Rapide to Hungary, Turkey, France, Italy, Ukraine, and Germany, among other places.
