Jul Dillier & Arthur Fussy 'Rausch'
Jul Dillier: piano, dulcimer, klangobjekte
Arthur Fussy: live-effects
Water is present in our everyday lives in all its different forms, uses, and sounds: calm as a lake, dripping as rain or from a tap, roaring wildly as a waterfall or power plant turbine, gurgling as a torrent or fountain. In an approximately 50-minute sound performance, Swiss pianist and sound artist Jul Dillier and Austrian electronic artist and sound designer Arthur Fussy trace the metamorphoses of water in several musical movements: from dripping to gurgling to rushing, foaming, and roaring. They mix the sounds of acoustic instruments and self-built sound objects with collected field recordings and live noises. A carefully crafted spatial and lighting concept using several overhead projectors creates a sound journey that surrounds the audience and invites them to immerse themselves in the truest sense of the word.
RAUSCH invites you to actively, sensually, and critically engage with an element that has been, is, and always will be of great historical, cultural, and economic importance to us humans.
