The Feine Katzen Orchestra is a trio dedicated to free improvisation. The three ensemble members bring with them different musical backgrounds, ranging from traditional (folk) music to (free) jazz and contemporary classical music. They experiment with possible approaches and discuss various aspects of improvising together, but ultimately rely on their musical intuition and their shared enthusiasm for creative dialogue in the moment. For the “Brennkammer” (combustion chamber), they have invited highly esteemed colleagues to join them for two of the three evenings in an expanded line-up: one with electronic accompaniment and one as an acoustic (medium-sized) ensemble.
