Live Nation presents

Maro (PT)

MARO is a multi-instrumentalist, songwriter, and producer from Lisbon, Portugal. After graduating from Berklee College of Music in Boston, she launched her career in 2018 and has since released five albums and an EP. She quickly established herself as a standout voice on the international music scene and was part of Jacob Collier’s DJESSE World Tour band, among other projects. During this time, she has already shared the stage with artists such as Jessie J, the Gipsy Kings, Charlotte Cardin, and The Paper Kites. In 2020, MARO launched the project ITSAME, MARO, a series of 100 musical collaborations with artists from around the world. In 2025, MARO was also among the most-covered female artists worldwide by other artists and was particularly highlighted by artists in the international music scene. Voices such as Billie Eilish (“That voice!”), Shawn Mendes (“Pure magic!”), and Quincy Jones (“a phenomenal talent with a timeless voice”) underscore her extraordinary artistic presence.

In 2022, MARO won the Festival da Canção and represented Portugal at the Eurovision Song Contest, where her song “saudade, saudade” garnered significant international attention and placed in the top 10. This was followed by further successful releases, including “Can You See Me?”, an album blending pop, trap, folk, and global influences, as well as “Hortelã,” an acoustic trio album that won the José Afonso Award. Following her collaboration with NASAYA, LIFELINE introduced a new electronic soundscape that further underscores MARO’s stylistic versatility. On July 2, 2026, MARO will present her current live program as part of her new album SO MUCH HAS CHANGED in an exclusive concert at Porgy & Bess in Vienna.

With *SO MUCH HAS CHANGED*, MARO opens a new chapter in her artistic journey. The album is characterized by a sense of new beginnings, joie de vivre, and a newfound lightness, without losing the emotional depth of her previous work. It reflects a phase of transformation in which looking back and starting anew flow into one another, and music is understood as a space for gratitude, energy, and connection. The resulting new live production brings this atmosphere to the stage for the first time with a full band lineup and marks a further evolution of her signature sound, which encompasses intimate moments as well as powerful, dynamic arrangements. The Viennese audience can look forward to an evening that combines musical intimacy, intensity, and international class in a special atmosphere. (Press release)
