Transcending stylistic boundaries and open to the inspiration of the moment, with imaginative, powerful soundscapes that stir the listener’s imagination and emotions, these musicians from Italy and Germany succeed in creating new music at a high musical and technical level—timeless and contemporary in the truest sense.

Fabio Mina met Markus Stockhausen in 2007 at a seminar on intuitive music and has since developed into one of the most interesting Italian flutists, particularly through his skillful and subtle use of electronic sound enhancements. Francesco Savoretti is an accomplished world musician, resourceful and equipped with a wide range of sonic possibilities. The musicians have already performed several concerts as a trio in Italy and Germany.

For their latest CD production, “Between Earth and Sky,” the trio was able to enlist the original singer Annie Barbazza, who has recorded multiple times on the darc companion label, as well as pianist Fabrizio Ottaviucci, with whom Markus Stockhausen has performed regularly since 1988 and released several albums. The group now continues to perform as a quintet. The release concert for the CD “Between Earth and Sky” and the premiere of the quintet lineup took place on February 7, 2026, in Piacenza, Italy, to great acclaim.
