The words creative, open, hip and unique come to mind when I think of David Helbock. I have known and been the teacher of David for more than 5 years and have watched him grow from a talented young pianist into a young man with a remarkable personal voice both as an improviser and a composer. He now brings that strong voice together in musical conversation with bassist Lucas Dietrich and drummer Marc Vogel to form a trio which explores every avenue of musical improvisation. This is a great expansive trio that is full of excitement and surprises at every turn and they don´t cease to amaze me with their dedication and hard work in becoming one of the finest groups around. They deserve to be heard by all people interested in creative music far and wide. Don’t miss them! They really are great. (Peter Madsen)
