Throughout my thirty years or more traveling and performing in Europe as a musical artist either working as a leader or just supporting my fellow musician friends with their bands, I have often been asked, what is your favorite European City?, and what place do you enjoy more in Europe. It has became very clear to me that Vienna is my favorite City in Europe. This answer was very clear to me when I noticed that most of my friends are in Vienna, I appreciated the people, the culture, design, food and it\\\\\\\'s art. But what struck me most was its musical history and the current musical scene and what lies ahead. I have been fortunate to work with many musicians from Vienna and these relationships spawned some of the most satisfying work that I have been involved with. These roots and these relationships over the years motivated me to bring about this group WALD for this performance. WALD with its root meaning is similar to the feelings that I have when I am in Austria, the nature of the earth and the natural occurrence of musical experimentation with all of its colors and textures. Some green, some brown, some black. I am completely at home when I am in Austria and I have been very creative here. I am proud to share the stage with drummer Alex Deutsch who was part of a group we had together named Pink Inc., with guitarist Andy Manndorff, who worked together with me when I was producing Wolfgang Puschnig\\\\\\\'s Mixed Metephors CD recording. I am always interested in the future of the younger musicians in Vienna and sharing the stage with trumpeter Lorenz Raab will prove to satisfy that taste. These Austrian musicians that I mentioned, represents a glimpse into the musical world of Vienna today. Together we will bring about a garden of musical bliss. (Jamaaladeen Tacuma)
