Trio Mangelsdorff/Weber/Weber (D/CH)

Albert Mangelsdorff: trombone
Eberhard Weber: bass
Reto Weber: percussion

Albert Mangelsdorff was among musicians like Hans Koller
and Attila Zoller, who have experimented with Cool Jazz
and Free Improvisation in the 50ties in Germany and have
been noticed across the atlantic too. Many years later,
Mangelsdorff is now past 70, head of the
Berlin Jazzfestival, and still one of the most profound trombone players. His revolution was turn his monophon
instrument into a polyphon trombone by singing through
the istrument and producing flagolette tones.
