Rundek Cargo Trio (HR)

Darko Rundek: guitar
Isabel: violin
Dusan Vranic-Duco: keyboards

Darko Rundek is one of the most popular musicians from the territories of ex-Yugoslavia. After moving to France he recorded two albums with the Rundek
Cargo Orkestar, but after completing the two follow-up tours with Orkestar he decided to accomplish his long lasting dream of founding a trio.

Throughout his career Darko Rundek had never played with bands of less than six members...not until last year that is, when he decided to form a trio with the aim of bringing his music closer to audiences through the intimacy and transparency that this basic formation affords. So violinist Isabel, multi-instrumentalist Duco Vranić and Darko formed the Rundek Cargo Trio.

The Rundek Cargo Trio's first album “Blue Airplane” (Plavi avion) was released by MENART - Zagreb in November 2010. The songs break away from the usual structures to explore more open, improvised and storytelling regions. The loose arrangements leave room for each of the three musicians to inject their own
expression. The promotional concerts took off in Scandinavia at the end of October 2010, landing in the ex-Yugoslavian countries at the end of November and continuing through December. "Blue Airplane" is a great success with critics and listeners alike, and has certainly attracted new audiences.

The Trio took off for the second part of the ex-Yugoslavian countries in the spring 2011. This unusual and impressive musical journey was definitely a real discovery for this summer's European festivals, concert halls and clubs, because the Rundek Cargo Trio leaves no-one indifferent. It combines the best of the Balkan sound with European blues, delighting old and new audiences wherever they may be. They played in more than 14 cities all over the region and they left the audience breathless everywhere. First part of the show was reserved for the beauty of the album "Blue Airplane", intimate and melancholic songs and the second part was there to make the audience dance! Legendary old songs from Rundek's great career made the highlight of every show and you felt like it could last forever... (Pressetext)
