Zum ersten Mal stieß ich auf den Gitarristen durch Paul Motians Electric Bebop Band, wo er gemeinsam mit einem weiteren Gitarrentalent (Brad Schoeppach) in den weiten Ozean der modernen Jazztradition eintauchte. Gemeinsam mit einem weiteren Rising Star, dem Saxophonisten Mark Turner, wird Rosenwinkel – unterstützt durch eine hervorragende Rhythmusgruppe – akustisch erläutern, was es in obigem Statement mit der Zweigleisigkeit betreffend musikalische Vorlieben und Bedürfnisse so für eine Bewandtnis hat.
