Der an der National School of Music Havana klassisch ausgebildete Drummer Dafnis Prieto kam 1999 nach New York, wo er alsbald in der Jazz- und Latin-Szene als Gastmusiker, Komponist und nicht zuletzt mit seinen eigenen Projekten auf sich aufmerksam machte. Mehrfach für den Grammy nominiert, steht Dafnis als Musiker für seinen ganz eigenen Drum-Stil, an dem er stetig feilt und arbeitet.
