Yaron Herman is a world class pianist and composer and is widely regarded as one of the leading musicians of his
generation.
Despite his young age he has toured every continent, presided over the Jury of the Montreux Jazz Festival Competition, headlined television broadcasts in 39 different countries, collected numerous awards including the Victoires du Jazz, iTunes Choice Award, New Talents Trophy, Adami Jazz Talent, Choc Jazzman, Disque d'émoi Jazz. He was the first ever jazz pianist to play in the ‘Forbidden City’ in Beijing.
Recently Yaron Herman signed to Universal Jazz & Classics’ Blue Note Label. His next album is scheduled for release in April 2015 and he will embark on a world tour right afterwards. The new album features Ziv Ravitz on drums and legendary Tonmeister and musician Valgeir Sigurdsson on electronics, remix, sound effects (Björk, Sigur Rós, Brian Eno).
With a background of traditional Israeli music and the European concert hall music tradition, a short stint at Berklee College School of Music and his current presence in the Parisian music scene, Yaron has developed an unparalleled style of ’real time composition‘ and a wild improvisational flare culminating in a rare music form which is playful, cinematic and stunning.
