20 Uhr: Peter Herbert Solo „ Bassooka”
„…(Peter Herbert’s) music is about substance, a story that has to be told. A music that is exotic, lush, dark, and soulful; a Bosch-like narrative, invoking gamelan, Brazilian street rhythms, late 20th century harmonic fields, jazz improvisation, and modern Viennese feelings…a feast for the ears and the imagination.” (Mark Dresser)

21 Uhr: Koehne String Quartet & Peter Herbert „Short Stories & Climbing”
Composing music for strings have been for many years a major part of Peter Herbert's activities. The bass concerto „climbing” was commissioned by the Ensemble Arpeggione and Franzisko Obieta (Buenos Aires) in 1999, and the „short stories” is an adapted version for strings by Peter Herbert's woodwindquintet „short stories”. The Koehne Quartet has successfully established a name in Vienna's contermporary music scene as one of the most versatile and vibrant groups, specialising in the field between composition and improvisation.
