Virtuosic visionary Jon Irabagon brings his new all-star quartet to Europe for the first time, featuring several of New York City's most unique and in-demand artists. Irabagon, a member of the groups of Mary Halvorson, Dave Douglas, Mike Pride and Barry Altschul, as well as a former member of Mostly Other People do the Killing, brings together Luis Perdomo on piano (Miguel Zenon, Ravi Coltrane, Tom Harrell), Yasushi Nakamura on bass (Myron Walden, Aaron Goldberg, Wycliffe Gordon) and Rudy Royston on drums (Bill Frisell, JD Allen, Rudresh Mahanthappa) into a powerful unit that can swing delicately or furiously as well as explore in an open, searching way, oftentimes in the same composition.
Their 2015 album Behind the Sky garnered rave reviews, and their latest album, which will be available for this tour, takes their group sound explorations to new heights.
