Simon Plötzeneder is a Yamaha Artist
His education become a professional jazz trumpeter brought him to the Linzer Bruckneruniversität (Bruckner university) and via the Wiener Jazzkonservatorium (jazz conservatory) to the renown Jazzhochschule Conservatorium van Amsterdam. As winner of their New York scholarship at the Manhattan School of Music, he was able to further develop his own musical style the most renown city for Jazz. All these experiences are reflected within his compositions. Rhythmically complex riffs meet modern harmonies and catchy melodies, which leave a lot of room for spontaneous solos.

Simon's sound and improvisational style was mainly shaped by American trumpet players such as Miles Davis, Chet Baker, Clifford Brown, Freddie Hubbard and Booker Little. From his long-standing work as a freelancer and through that the adopted flexibility to move freely through various genres, he draws his creative and powerful play.
